The Nagoya UT-106UV SMA-F is an external, magnetic-mount car antenna for radios, dual-band 144/430 MHz with 3.2/5.6 dB gain, designed to extend radio signal range. These antennas are most commonly used with portable, handheld, or base-station radios. When connected to a transceiver, this gain antenna extends signal range by a certain amount depending on the device's output power. It can also be used to stabilize the signal and improve call quality when connected to a receiver.

Thanks to its magnetic base, the antenna can double as a quick-detach car antenna for portable handheld radios. It performs best on metal surfaces, which it uses as a counterweight/ground plane.

Besides the strong magnet in its base for mounting to metal surfaces, the antenna comes with a 3-meter cable, letting you conveniently route it outside a room or shelter, or raise it to the height you need.
