This rubber lens hood is a perfect fit for standard telephoto lenses, kit lenses, and any other lens without a bayonet hood mount.
The main purpose of a lens hood is to reduce glare and prevent direct sunlight from hitting your lens - what's known as lens flare or stray light. This improves photo quality and lets you capture shots that would otherwise be difficult without a hood.
