The main effect of a lens hood is reducing glare and stray light entering the lens from direct sunlight, so-called "parasitic flare." This, in turn, improves photo quality and lets you capture shots that would otherwise be compromised without a hood. Ideal for shooting against the sun.

This petal-shaped lens hood works for both narrow-angle and wide-angle lenses. It's designed to attach to the lens's internal thread.

An added benefit of the petal design is preventing vignetting on wide-angle lenses. This hood is made from dense, slightly flexible plastic. It has threading for internal lens mounting, plus a plastic lock ring.
