It has a check valve to prevent backflow. The kit includes everything you need to install and start using the pump right away. It transfers roughly 20-30 liters per minute.

*Note: not suitable for pumping solvents, food products, or flammable materials such as gasoline.
*Watch the inlet tube to confirm liquid is being drawn into the pump within 15-20 seconds. If it isn't, check that the suction tube is properly attached to the pump fitting. If the pump won't start, make sure the hose isn't kinked or blocked.
*Never run the pump dry (without liquid) - this can damage it.
